Crawl into My Head
Funny
A friend sent me this lil' story this morning...found it kinda funny:
A co-worker got a pen stuck inside our printer. He started to try and remove it, but I told him we didn't have time for that right now and to just put a note on the printer telling folks not to use it, and then report it to the Help Desk.
So he grabbed a piece of paper and scrawled on it. I left before he finished the note.
About 20 minutes later, one of the techs comes in laughing and says he was just in the lobby, saw a piece of paper on a printer and went to investigate.
Attached is what he found. Sometimes things don't always come out the way we intend.

Good Manners
During a good manners and etiquette class, the teacher says to her students :
"If you were courting a well educated young girl from a prominent family and during a dinner for two you needed to go to the toilet, what would you say to her?"
Mike replies : "Wait a minute, I have to go pee."
The teacher says : "That would be very rude and improper on your part."
Johnny replied : "I'm sorry I need to go to the toilet, I'll be back in a minute."
The teacher says : "That's much better but to mention the word "toilet" during a meal, is unpleasant."
Charlie says: "My dear, please excuse me for a moment. I have to go shake hands with a personal friend, whom, I hope, to be able to introduce to you after dinner."
The teacher passed out.
Why you don't bug me in the mornings
"I'm handing out lollipops and ass-kickings, and I'm all outta lollipops."
Care to guess which TV show that was from? (Hint: it was on last night)
Okay, so I'm a bitch in the mornings. I'm not a morning person, never have been. A few people find that a little hard to understand. Especially since I am normally at work before everyone else gets there. But all my old jobs, I worked in the afternoons/evenings. I mean, if I am going to be up until the bum-fck am, why not get paid for it.
I have always had a hard time sleeping. I've been on drugs to help me out, both OC and prescription, but nothing seems to truly help. My doctor at work thinks that it could be because of depression or my being bipolar. If that is the case, then that should have been determined when it started in my childhood. I can pass out for a couple of hours and that is about it. Don't expect much more from me. Sorry. I continually get told by my coworkers to go get some coffee or caffeine to perk up. That never helps...caffeine and sugar don't do much to my system; it just makes sure that my blood glucose stays even. (Being hypoglucosive can be a strain sometimes.)
But what gets my nerve is when people who know I am not a morning person like to push my buttons. They know that it is easier to get me riled up, and then tell me to chill out. Sorry, that does not float my boat. There are a lot of us out there who function, but only because we have to, for the mornings. But DON'T ever tell us to chill out...that can set the mood for us the rest of the day.
So, I will sit here and finish downloading more cd's to my computer today so I can have some new stuff to listen to and create new playlists. I will sit and do my work and hope that no one wants to bug me a lot after I get back from the Friday Chick-Fil-A run. Otherwise, heaven help them.
Just pay attention to the old adage: let sleeping dogs lie; this one will bite back.

Lord, please protect us from more Southern Stupidity
America is turning into the new Nazi nation...and the sad part is that it is all starting in the South. The
newest attack comes from Alabaman Republican State Senator Gerald Allen. His fight to ban gay marriages there failed, so he has structured his newest attack to be in the best interest of children...to protect children from the "homosexual agenda." So are the kids going to stay in Alabama then, because, last I checked "The Color Purple", "The Picture of Dorian Gray" and "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" were all classics that cross through schools, libraries or theatres across the US. What is the common prayer?
"Forgive them, Father, for they know not what they do"
Mmph!!!

Okay, so I have really been listening to BT a lot lately...love his music, think he is pretty cute, and wouldn't mind seeing him on tour somewhere.

Hmm....I see problems with this
Florida Governor Signs Deadly Force LawBy Michael Peltier
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Reuters) - Florida Gov. Jeb Bush signed a new anti-crime law on Tuesday that allows people to kill in self-defense without first trying to flee.
Supporters say the law is a logical extension of common law that allows homeowners who fear for their lives to use deadly force to defend themselves from an intruder in their homes.
The new law expands that doctrine to include people in public places who feel threatened and could be subject to death or great bodily harm.
"To suggest that you can't defend yourself against a rapist, who's trying to drag you into an alley, or against a carjacker who's trying to drag you out of your car is nonsense," said Marion Hammer, a former president of the National Rifle Association.
"The ability to protect yourself, your children or your spouse, is important, no matter where you are."
Critics of the new law, called the "Stand Your Ground" bill, have few objections to allowing people to protect themselves in their homes but say the bill will create a "Wild West" mentality in public, where residents may shoot first and ask questions later.
"There are going to be a lot of repercussions," said Rep. Eleanor Sobel, a Democrat. "You could have someone reaching into their pocket and if the person felt threatened he could shoot."
Like many states, Florida courts have ruled that homeowners have a right to defend themselves in their homes. Florida courts have expanded the doctrine to include employees in their workplace and drivers who are attacked in their automobiles.
Outside the home, however, courts have ruled that most victims must at least attempt to escape before using deadly force, a provision gun advocates say puts victims at greater risk. The new law removes that requirement if a person has a reasonable fear of death or great bodily harm.
"All this bill will do is sell more guns and possibly turn Florida into the OK Corral," Rep. Irv Slosberg, a Democrat, said during recent debate on the bill. Glad I don't live there...don't need to worry about someone shooting me because they feel threatened by my being gay.
Migraines and Spirituality
Well, since last week I have been suffering from my migraines again. Sucks how they come and go, and usually around certain times of the year. I would rather drown myself than deal with one. I was really sore and out of it on Saturday, but I didn't want to tell Patrick that I wasn't really up for hanging with anyone, so him, Matt and I went out to Best Buy, hit Toscana for dinner, and then traveled on down to Mayfaire Center to check out World Market and Coldstone Creamery. I drove because I figured that would help me stay focused...although I did get a little snappy when they couldn't figure out where to eat for dinner. Imagine that, two queers unable to make up their mind. Hmph. We made a quick stop at Patrick's house so we could check up on Petey (his cute lil' weiner dog). But the entire trip turned into a major "pick on Ian" festival since I wasn't talking. Matt doesn't feel comfortable with long silences, which sometimes are very good. So he started talking about the thing he knew best....me. Before I knew it, they both were going on me and secrets were being divulged that I didn't need to getting out yet. Oh well. I was supposed to stay at Patrick's that night, but I told him I would just stay at home. We got back around 930 or so, so I sent him home and crawled into bed and watched my anime on Cartoon Network. Sunday wasn't much better...still had a lot of pain going on (ugh) and I hardly managed to get anything done at all. Monday was worse because the pain decided to also migrate to my legs and knees. I hate that. I had started off pretty well, but then it just hit me really hard and blew me down. So I go home and try to get some rest. Yeah...about maybe a total of two hours true sleep and I can hardly sleep for the rest of the night. Joy. Sat and listened to Matt online defending gay marriage to a bunch of people that had some interesting lil' sound bytes for their AIM.
******* ******* *******
Everyone in that chat room had something to spout off with spirituality and religion and how gay marriages goes against all teachings. Why do people have to tie in spirituality with religion? They are connected, but not interchangeable. I took a little quiz on AOL regarding my spirituality, which I thought would be funny since I never practice much of anything except trying my best to be nice to everyone. Ever hear the phrase "Karma is a bitch?" I have been a very good description of it. But I think I got my karma points back up. Anyone keeping track of where I am at these days? Anyway, I am found to be a "Spiritual Straddler – One foot in traditional
religion, one foot in free-form spirituality." Which I think is pretty accurate. I practice Judaism somewhat, but I believe more in doing the right thing. I have started learning more about Buddhism and meditation since it does help a lot with stress. But I never could understand following something that is so rigidly defined. Especially the Catholic Church, or the Southern Baptists. Are some people really that lost that they need someone else to define their lives for them? Someone please explain that to me...my migraine is coming back just thinking about it.

Precious Box"In my house there’s a circle, where the life comes in
From the stars to my home, down through the stone,
I could have been so alone,
Without my precious box
Have I a family? I guess not
I’ve never seen a lot of beauty
In my life.
Well in your house there are servants, and the lights all dim
Such a beautiful home, your agent’s on the phone, they never
leave you alone
The party never stops!
You say that’s fantasy, I say “So what, I need a little beauty…”
So let me in,
You know you’ve kind of got under my skin
You know we never see a lot of the action round here
My dear
You may want to strip again
And you look so fine in your Gucci suit
And you’re making more money than your daddy
could have imagined
But people can go out of fashion, honey, yeah, any time
So take that picture, stop acting so dumb
Don’t you know that the moment will come
I will find someone like you
But with something extra, I’m sorry baby
I don’t know why
I don’t know why that is
The systematic breakdown of my community
You know I hate my job, I try to save but God
There’s just never enough
Switch on, the pressure - stops
You know the one for me, she’s on Fox
And she’s a little beauty…
Give me your life, give me your life, I want it
Because lately, it’s so freezing out here
(This side of the glass, life keeps kicking my ass)
In so many ways, but you make it good
Made me the kind of happy that my baby never could
(This side of the glass…)

So take that picture, stop acting so dumb
Don’t you know that the moment will come
I will find someone like you
But with something extra, I’m so sorry baby
I don’t know why
I don’t know why that is
Precious keeps me company
Keeps me from being alone
Because no-one comes in the morning
No-one comes in the evening time
I’d sit and wait for the phone to ring
I could be waiting my whole damn life
So sick of the same old faces
In this street, where nobody talks to me
And the funny side of the situation is
I don’t care, I’ll always be there
When you come down from the sky
And make yourself at home
In my house
Because these days it’s the money the money
The money, honey, or your life
I said don’t you know you can’t have both
Stop acting so dumb
The moment will come
I will find someone like you
Something extra, (always happens baby to me) sorry baby
I don’t know why (something)
Said I don’t know why that is
You may want to strip again
You may want to let me in
You may want to sacrifice
More than you think is fair or right
You may want to think again
You may want to watch your friends
You may want to change your mind
You may wish you could turn back time"

You have an entrancing kiss~ the kind that leaves
your partner bedazzled and maybe even feeling
he/she is dreaming. Quite effective; the kiss
that never lessens and always blows your

Thursday mornin
Mornin' all! Last night was a pretty slow night, but I like that once in awhile. I don't get to have slow nights that often. Me and Patrick went down to the beach since it was warm...although it had started to cool down by the time we got there and was getting windy too. But I did manage to find some sea whip with the coral casing still on it...and a nice chunk of shelf coral washed up. There was a nice-sized, intact slipper snail shell...so now I have new ornaments for my desk.

On American Idol news, Anwar was dismissed last night...Anthony almost didn't make it...and Scott should have been kicked off the show a long time ago. Oh well...you can't win everything.

Interesting tidbits that I found:

Rafael. You're most like the ArchAngel of Healing.
You want people to shape up, and you nag. But
you mean well, and you're well loved despite
it. Or because of it. You bring the donuts
even as you tell people to eat more veggies.
BrownYou have brown eyes. Brown is the color of the earth. Your eyes symbolize your comforting and fostering nature. You are stable, grounding, sophisticated, considerate, conventional and orderly. People may consider you to be cozy or warm. People feel safe when they are with you. Some words to describe you: reliability, elegance, security, healing, homely, grounding, foundation, and earthly.
And my other one....

Lucifer. The most misunderstood of all the
ArchAngels, you're most like the ArchAngel of
Light. You've seen the darkside and have opted
for something better. You need better press,
though chances are no one will really
understand your motives.

Wanted to thank my friend Ian from Connex for a quote he recently found for his thesis:
"Homosexuals are more psychologically androgynous than nonhomosexuals and are likely to contribute significantly to the process of cultural evolution. Hampering such evolution through continued stigmatization of homosexuals is detrimental to the species."
-Dr. Gary Mihalik,
from the Journal of Gay & Lesbian Psychotherapy At least someone has realized that we more, and not people with "strong tendenc(ies) ordered toward an intrinsic moral evil." (quote taken from Joseph Ratzinger/Pope Benedict XVI delivered in a Letter to the Bishops of the Catholic Church on the Pastoral Care of Homosexual Persons)
Todays commentary.....
Okay...saw this comic this morning and thought that it is apt.
Tribute to all the stupid people and their lawsuitsAlright, so the Catholic Church has finally chosen its new pope yesterday, Pope Benedict XVI, aka Joseph Ratzinger. It is funny that they decided on someone who was formally involved with the German Army when he was in his late teens. Granted, for that time period there wasn't much in the way of choices. But, still, the Catholic Church has vehemetly protested against anything tied with the Nazis. Maybe this is a new step for them opening up...who knows.
picture courtesy CNN.comSo I finally managed to get my ass up early this morning and get to the gym. Swam about 20 minutes before deciding that I had enough of it. I realized that I am not as much in shape as I used to be....especially after one lap of butterfly. LOL Oh well...maybe if I can keep myself motivated, I can gradually work myself up to where I need to be. But, could someone please remind me to bring my hair stuff with me? I have straw hair this morning.

American Idol opinion: Last night's Idol completely sucked. My favorite, Carrie, had some seriously screwed up hair and didn't put much pump into the song. Anthony had some pitch problems, but is cute, so who cares. Scott, Anwar, Constantine, and Bo should have been kicked off a long time ago. And what was up wtih Vonzell's outfit? But we will see how it was rigged this year for the winner.

nothing much is going on here. Worked over the weekend...joy. Did manage to complete one study's paperwork and get two others reviewed on Saturday. I want to know what happened to the warm weather. Wasn't sure if Matt would feel uncomfortable with the two of us laying on top of each other...it ended up turning into a major "pick on Ian" afternoon. LOL Yeah..the two of them are not allowed around each other anymore. Just kidding. It was cool. Caught a few episodes of "King of the Hill", the ending to "Little Shop of Horrors", rewatched
Whoopi's Return to Broadway, and caught the Simpsons twice last night. Was pretty cool. Teased the hell outta Patrick when he decided to sit on my chest...hands gotta go somewhere!!! LOL

Anyway, here we are to Monday and the beginning of my meetings this week. And already I want to tell HGL to shut up!!! I am shocked though that she actually started showing up on time...major improvement for her. I guess she finally got the talking-to she deserved.

Okay, so Friday and Saturday nights are a good movie night. But sometimes during the week you just feel like watching something for the hell of it...or if nothing good is on TV. So I sat down and decided to watch
Elektra.

Not a bad movie for the continuation from Daredevil. Jennifer Garner is obviously getting better at doing her stunt from working all the time on Alias. Toss in a little lesbian-geared kiss between her and the villian Typhoid Mary....hot even from a gay man!! If you get into comic book-based movies, you might be a little disappointed, but it sticks with her main character. Check it out...see what you think.

Virtue means doing the right thing, in relation to the right person,
at the right time, to the right extent, in the right manner, and for
the right purpose. Thus, to give money away is quite a simple task,
but for the act to be virtuous, the donor must give to the right
person, for the right purpose, in the right amount, in the right
manner, and at the right time.

Morning
Hey there...not much to report on today. Just taking it slow today as the day gets started.
Alrighty, I have been asked for the answer to yesterday's question. Q:
What do you get when you put 50 lesbians and 50 politicians in a room together?A: 100 people who don't care about dick.
This morning's riddle:
A beggar's brother died, but the man who died didn't have a brother. How can that be?
Funny
How appropriate
Okay, so the girls ordered Chinese and gave me a fortune cookie. Check out what my fortune was today:

Sounds like my life helping out my friends. :-)
Randomness
Okay, so I don't have much to talk about this morning...hell, it is still early. But I do have a question. Who wants to serve as attack dog bait? LOL Saw it on AOL this morning under the job listing.
Listening to the radio (107.5WKZL) this morning, they played a call that was placed to sheriff's deputies about a woman pissed off at a fast food joint for not making her hamburger to her liking and the manager refused to make a new one. The lady wanted the police to come out and force the manager to make a new burger!!!! Hello?!?!! Are people really that stupid? She even had the nerve to tell the dispatcher that they were supposed to protect her. Protect her from what, attack of the mutant meat? (Flashback to cartoon series, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes)

I think the best thing that they protected her from was her own stupidity. JoJo, Jamie and Flave have posted it up to the
website now for everyone's hearing pleasure.
Fast Food Call Alright, I am getting asked for the answers to yesterday's quiz. Here ya go!!
1.)Eye 2.)Ear 3.)Hip 4.)Arm 5.)Leg 6.)Rib 7.)Gum 8.)Lip 9.)Toe 10.)Jaw
So how many did you get right?
Now a question. What do you get when you put 50 lesbians and 50 politicians in a room together?
Okay
Alright, so a good friend has been able to further my education and inform me that there are other
countries that actually utilize DST. Thank you, bud!!
Quiz for this morning.
There are ten different body parts that are only three letters long. What are they?
Finally...
this thing is working again. I tried about five times yesterday trying to get into this, but wasn't able to. Oh well. At least I am now.
Okay, did anyone hear about Terri Schiavo being cremated on Saturday, or did the Pope rule the airwaves? I know I never heard about it...good thing. I guess it means that the media has realized the important things in the news again and that no one cares about the Schiavo case anymore. But I do have one question. If you marry someone and then pass away, why are your parents going to control where you get buried or scattered if your partner is still alive? The right thing to do would be to give some of her ashes to her parents, but not everyone knows how to compromise. :-) One of the joys of living in the States. Not!!!!
Hmm...now we all complain about the Christian Right screwing us over in the ass. According to Bill Maher they have the experience with it from when they are kids. He wrote an opinion column for
Salon.com And I do have to say that I agree. But you got to love his opinion...
"New Rule: Abstinence pledges make you horny. A new eight-year study just released reveals that American teenagers who take "virginity" pledges of the sort so favored by the Bush administration wind up with just as many STDs as the other kids.
But that's not all -- taking the pledges also makes a teenage girl six times more likely to perform oral sex, and a boy four times more likely to get anal...
"Is there any greater irony than the fact that the Christian Right actually got their precious little adolescent daughters to say to their freshly scrubbed boyfriends: "Please, I want to remain pure for my wedding night, so only in the ass. Then I'll blow you." Well, at least these kids are really thinking outside the box.
There's a lot worse things than teenagers having sex, namely, teenagers NOT having sex. Here's something you'll never hear: "That suicide bomber blew himself up because he was having too much sex. Sex, sex, sex, non-stop. All that crazy Arab ever had was sex, and look what happened."
Well, that's our story -- of how faith and the party of smaller government combined to turn your kids into a generation of super-freaks. Which shouldn't be surprising: Prohibition didn't work, "Just say no" didn't work, and I understand there's a host of Americans who illegally obtain and smoke marijuana. They're the ones who've been giggling every time I say anal sex. "
Oh...and the Danish can vouch that we are just as
normal as anyone else. The divorce rate there is the same as hetero couples. Hmm...too bad the divorce lawyers in the States aren't pushing as hard to have gay marriages legalized; they would really be prospering from us. We seem to get married what, two times a year? Just kidding...we don't get married that much. Or at least not those of us who truly know what we are looking for.
Okay..that is my commentary for today. Have a good rest of the Tuesday..I get to wander around the office all day on my feet. Joy.
Please remind me...
What was the importance of Daylight Savings Time? We are the only country that follows through with that. I think they did it for the kids in the morning so they wouldn't be standing at the bus stop in the dark, but no matter how it worked, I always seemed to stand in the dark. Oh well. Now I just go to work in the dark. What is new there.
Okay..now to report on the rest of life.

The Pope died at 237pm Saturday afternoon. The President stated that the Catholics lost their shepard. Um....did G-d die? Is he able to die? Don't think so. The Pope was not the shepard of the church; he was just the head of the flock. Mr President, please make sure you have your facts correct; and learn your grammar too. Non-sensical is not a word.
Guess what, Matt...you were actually right about something. For some reason we were led to believe that Bangkok was in China. In actuality it is the capital of Thailand, located on the Chao Phraya River.

In movies, if you decide to travel to New Bern, NC, plan on not watching any R-rated movies after 7pm on a Friday night.
And, finally, in sports, Illinois will be playing against North Carolina in the championship game of the NCAA tonight. Thank god that will be finished!!! And then on to baseball season.
That is all for the news this morning...have a good day.
Friday is finally f*cking here!!!
OmG!!! I never thought that this week would be over!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I have spent more time here than anywhere else. My friend Wes was picking on me at dinner last night because I said that this week I had not gotten out of work at 5pm (or 450) as normal. He kept saying "poor boy has to work for a living." Hmm...I have been told that I can "work" something else too...that would be a little more fun. NOT!!!! Well...maybe.
Anyway...I am so happy that it is Friday. But one last thing to comment on: The parents of Terri Shiavo still want to carry on a fight with her husband about where she is to be buried, cremated or otherwise. The husband wants her with his family; the parents want her in Florida. From what I remember, the married couple are the ones who normally set up the burial rites, etc. and everything follows from there. So why does the selfishness continue? I know that I am staying far away from the news for the next couple of weeks until I know for sure that this is over and outta the way. I think we all are so f*cking tired of hearing about this crap.
Oh...and one final note. Starting today, I have officially turned straight. Have a good day!!
NOT!!!!! I am still a big ol' queer (not queen...I retired the tiara years ago). Happy April Fools!!
